Sometimes, life and love can follow the most obscure paths, just as they did for Elisa.
Her life becomes a dark, cold, lonely cage the day the Devil takes her as his wife. He robs her of almost everything she holds dear: her health, her wealth and what is left of her family.
Trapped between the nuances of life and beyond-life, Elisa finds herself struggling for a better tomorrow. With her health deteriorating, how will she summon the courage and strength to stand her ground? And how far will she go in the pursuit of a dream?
Embark with Elisa on this puzzling Gothic adventure set in the late Victorian era, between the world of the Living and the picturesque, melancholic Duskland.

"It is strange... How can I 'go home' when I have no memories of that place at all?"
- Elisa

"Stop it, Elisa. You're bleeding, my darling!"
- Leonhard

"Ah, love, the biggest poison and most dangerous drug there is."
- Dr. Charles

WOW I loved this story dark and gritty world Isis has created for us to explore. The Illustrations took this book to a whole new level and I loved it. I loved all the paranormal aspects of the story but the story itself is what hooked me from the beginning and kept me going until the very end. This book is about finding yourself again and learning to take back what is rightfully yours, but it is not easy when your married to the Devil himself just how far will Elisa go to regain control of her life?
(Chapter II – A Ghost in the Dusk)
They reached the mansion’s entrance hall at just the right time. Elisa was so weak she could barely stand and the world was spinning around her in slow motion. Leonhard placed her on the couch. He feared she would faint, like she had the other times.
“Dr. Charles! Please, are you home?”
He looked at Elisa. The poor lady shut her eyes and held his hand with her cold, sweating fingers.
“Help me, Leonhard! Please…” Her voice was low, weak, begging.
“You will be fine, my dear.” Impatient, he shouted louder. “Dr. Charles! If you’re home, please help us! Elisa needs your assistance.”
A tall, ghostly figure appeared by the handrail on the second floor. When he realized the urgency, he hurried downstairs to attend to them. He pulled up a chair, shoving Leonhard from his seat.
“Get my suitcase from upstairs. Ask Gerania and Iphigenia to boil water. Hurry! Let’s not waste any more precious time.”

“I am not a writer, neither is writing one of my passions, on the contrary; I see it as a necessary evil! I like to say I am an illustrator and storyteller.
I was born and raised in Brazil and since 2009, been living in Norway with my best-half. I work as illustrator and graphic designer from my home-office, in slippers and comfy clothes. (Would really prefer PJs, but here and there someone knocks on the door!)
Love Heavy Metal, Fantasy and Dark Fantasy and most forms of art.”
